Scottish Parliament Cross Party Group on Drug and Alcohol Misuse to hear about issues in residential rehabilitation in Scotland

The Scottish Parliament Cross Party Group on Drug and Alcohol Misuse is to hear about issues in residential rehabilitation in Scotland at their next meeting.

The purpose of the group is to examine current policy and practice in responding to drug and alcohol-related problems in Scotland and to advise on and promote the development of realistic, evidence-based responses, which could assist in the reduction of the damaging consequences of drug and alcohol use in Scotland.

Members of the public and other stakeholders are invited to attend the meeting, which will be held via Zoom on the 27th November at 10.30 -12.00.

Residential rehabilitation in Scotland for people with substance problems

Speakers include:

Dr David McCartney, Clinical Lead LEAP and chair of the Scottish Residential Rehabilitation working group. David will provide an overview of residential rehabilitation in Scotland and highlight key issues.

David Brockett, Head of House – Scottish Residential Service, Phoenix Futures.
David will describe the work of Phoenix Futures Glasgow residential rehabilitation service

Tracey Clusker, MAT Standards Clinical Lead and former head of Midlothian Substance Misuse Service will provide a community service perspective on the role of residential rehabilitation
