Recovery Worker Training Project

The Recovery Worker Training Project (RWTP) is a new initiative that launched in 2020, which supports, trains, and prepares individuals with a history of problematic drug and alcohol use, and who live in the Highlands to work in Social Care.

The project, based on SDF’s award-winning Addiction Worker Training Project, prepares participants for employment through formal learning and in-work placements over a 39 week period – whilst paying them to take part.

The learning aspects of the course are primarily delivered remotely through the use of computers, therefore enabling people who live in rural areas across the Highlands to take part.

The criteria for participation are that participants are two years free from illicit drug use, substitute prescribing and problematic alcohol use, live in the Highlands, and would like a career helping others.

We are currently accepting applications for RWTP until the 16th July 2021
