Lynne Macdonald

Training and Development Officer – SDF Learning Centre

Lynne joined Scottish Drugs Forum in December 2018 as Co-ordination and Development Officer for the award winning Addiction Worker Training Project. There she was responsible for the day-to-day management of the project, working with trainees from across central Scotland and the Highlands.

Lynne moved to Scottish Drug Forum’s Learning Centre in August 2021, to take up a new role as Training and Development Officer. She is responsible for developing the project, assessing SVQ, and delivering training – as part of the ‘Enhanced Package SVQ’ – to candidates across the drug and alcohol sector.

Originally from Langholm, Lynne worked as a Youth Development Worker in Dumfries and Galloway for six years before heading north in 2002 to work in third sector organisations in Edinburgh. There she had various roles supporting young people, families, and adults before finding her passion for working with people experiencing problems with their drug and alcohol use. She has a vast experience of working in drug and alcohol services and supporting people in their recovery.

Lynne is also an experienced Aricular Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist and she is a National Assessor for NADA Scotland. She also holds certificates in Indian Head Massage and Reiki.
