National Volunteer Forum on Drug-Related Deaths

Surveying the experts

The National Volunteer Forum for Drug Related Deaths is one of the four resident working groups the National Forum on Drug-Related Deaths (NFDRD) – an independent expert advisory group of professionals and representatives working to reduce drug-related deaths in Scotland.

The volunteer forum membership is made up of SDF Naloxone peer educators from across Scotland. Work for the group comes direct from the NFDRD and recent projects have included street benzodiazepine use, heroin-assisted treatment, safer drug consumption facilities and the illicit use of Gabapentin.

This work often involves designing and facilitating a short questionnaire aimed at gathering responses from people who attend recovery communities on their experiences and opinions of the topic.
