We’re accepting applications for the Addiction Worker Training Project!

Do you have a history of drug or alcohol problems?

Do you live in Fife, North Lanarkshire, or East Ayrshire?

Are you interested in developing a career helping others?

Then we would like to talk to YOU!

Scottish Drugs Forum’s award-winning Addiction Worker Training Project (AWTP) is looking for people in Fife, North Lanarkshire and East Ayrshire to become trainee addiction workers.

The AWTP is a unique initiative which supports, trains, and prepares people with a history of drug and alcohol problems to work in Social Care.

We offer £8.21 per hour before deductions whilst you are learning and being trained, with a fixed term contract of 30 hours per week for 39 weeks.

Trainees undertake work placements in social care agencies and study towards an SVQ 2 in Social Services and Health Care.  Full training and a comprehensive package of support is provided.

If you are interested in developing a career in the drug and alcohol field, and you are either two years drug free (including substitute prescribing) or two years free of problematic alcohol use by the end of July 2020, we’d like to hear from you.

For further details, please contact us at 0141 221 1175 or email michaelg@sdf.org.uk or Download an Application Pack here.

Closing date: 4th August 2020 at 12 noon.

Interviews will take place on the week of 10th August via digital platform.
