HEPATITIS Scotland is hosting its first National Patient Involvement Group for people affected by Hepatitis C on 26 January in Glasgow.
Nominations for the Group are being invited from a wide variety of people across Scotland, to gain a better understanding of patient issues and concerns.
The aim is to come together a number of times a year to give opinions and insights on issues relating to viral hepatitis, potentially including local and national frameworks, policy and practice, information sharing and treatment and support issues. The intention is for feedback from the Group to go to relevant NHS Managed Care Networks at local and national level.
Hepatitis Scotland – funded by the Scottish Government – was launched in 2011 to support and lead the work of voluntary sector groups towards preventing the spread of viral hepatitis (Hepatitis B and C), increasing the numbers of people diagnosed with viral hepatitis, improving access to hepatitis treatment and support, improving the range and quality of prevention, treatment and care services, and reducing stigma associated with viral hepatitis.
