The following is a rough guide to how long drugs can be detected in urine after use at dose levels typically taken by drug users:

| (heavy use) | up to 30 days |
| Cocaine | 12 hours - 3 days |
| Diazepam | 1-2 days |
| Ecstasy | 2-4 days |
| Heroin | 1-2 days |
| LSD | 2-3 days |
| Methadone | 2 days |
| Temazepam | 1-2 days (longer after injecting) |
Note: These detection times can vary with food and fluid intake, metabolic rate, kidney function, amount of drugs use and for how long, other drugs taken, and the sensitivity of the test. Times may also change as drug testing methods improve.
