We’re looking for new trainees for the Addiction Worker Training Project!

Do you have a history of addiction? Interested in developing a career? We want to hear from you!

If you are interested in developing a career in working with people with addiction problems and at time of applying you are either two years drug free-including substitute prescribing or two years free of problematic alcohol use, we’d like to hear from you.

Scottish Drugs Forum’s award-winning Addiction Worker Training Project (AWTP) is a unique initiative which supports, trains, and prepares individuals with a history of problematic drug and alcohol use to work in Social Care.

Trainees will undertake placements in social care agencies and will study towards an SVQ 2 in Social Services and Health Care. Full training and support will be provided. We offer £225 per week before deductions with a fixed term contract of 30 hours per week for 39 weeks.

Applications are invited from the East and West of Scotland, and we are particularly welcoming applications from Glasgow, Edinburgh, West Lothian, East Ayrshire and Fife.
