Volunteering with SDF

Volunteering is a fantastic way to increase your current knowledge and skill base, as well as being a great way to meet new people and try new experiences.

SDF knows our volunteers make a real difference to the work we are able to do, and we truly value their contribution. Without our volunteers, we would not be able to carry out the valuable work we do in the same way.

Volunteers help us to improve services for people who use substances and provide a wide range of skills, knowledge and experiences for us to learn and benefit from.

SDF believes that volunteering should be rewarding and enjoyable for all our volunteers. We provide quality training, opportunities to build skills, experiences of the substance use field and encourage and support volunteers to achieve their individual goals.

As recognition of SDF’s provision of support and opportunities for volunteers, the organisation has been awarded a prestigious Investing in Volunteers award. The accolade, which is seen as a benchmark of quality throughout the UK, is presented to organisations that carry out best practice in regards to the management of volunteers.
