Fund set up to develop family support groups across Scotland

The Scottish Government have partnered with Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol and Drugs (SFAD) and the Corra Foundation to set up a fund to give existing and new family groups access to small grants to promote family recovery across Scotland.

The Fund offers one-off grants of up to £1,500 and is open to groups (family support groups, carer groups) and to people looking to start their own local group.

The Family Recovery Initiative Fund is a great opportunity to strengthen the support, inclusion and recognition of families affected by a loved one’s addiction and is a great opportunity to grow a movement for change by families for families.

SFAD’s Connecting Families Development Officer, Susie McClue, will work with family support groups across Scotland with this movement for change. You could be part of a regional forum of family members discussing how  families best connect, share experiences, ideas and create change.

Do you want to get involved in this movement for change? You can reach Susie at susie@sfad.org.uk or 0141 465 7524 – Susie’s working days are Monday – Wednesday. You can also get in touch with the main office 0141 465 7523 and info@sfad.org.uk
