Clinical guidance published on the illicit use of synthetic opioids

A new resource for clinicians on the problematic use of synthetic opioids has been published.

Released by Project NEPTUNE, an initiative created to provide a clinical response to the emerging challenge of club drugs and novel psychoactive substances, the resource looks at the harms and clinical management of fentanyl, fentanyl analogues and other synthetic opioids.

The project has responded to the current gap in knowledge for the clinical management of these substances by undertaking a review of the available research evidence to produce a comprehensive and evidence based reference document.
