National Quality Development Manager
Bruce manages the Quality Development team which provides support to ADPs and services across Scotland in quality development and improvement. He joined SDF in June 2012. His career started in Mental Health Nursing, specialising in alcohol and drug treatment. He moved as a practitioner to a social work drugs service in Paisley, then becoming a trainer in addictions (including brief interventions) for social workers, nurses and other public sector and voluntary sector workers.
From 1994 Bruce was Depute Director of Renfrew Council on Alcohol, joining Aberlour Child Care Trust in 1998 where he initially managed a residential service for with families affected by parental substance use. Latterly, he was Aberlour’s Assistant Director for a portfolio of services to families with a national lead role for drugs and alcohol issues, leaving in 2010 to Net Device Corp, managing provision of NeuroElectric Therapy to recovering drug users in Scotland.
